Celebrity Health & Fitness Expert Forbes Riley Wins Top Honors in Competition - YAHOO! Posted: 08 Nov 2010 09:07 PM PST Forbes Riley, Creator/CEO of SpinGym®, Takes Top Honors: Named One of StartupNation.com's Leading Moms in Business 2010 Competition St. Petersburg, FL (PRWEB) November 8, 2010 From among thousands of business owners, Forbes Riley, Creator/CEO of SpinGym®, has been ranked one of the Top 200 Female CEOs in StartupNation.com's Leading Moms in Business 2010 Competition (http://www.startupnation.com/leading-moms-in-business/contestant/8183/index.php). A 2010 National Fitness Hall of Fame inductee, award-winning TV host, author, spokesperson, motivational keynote speaker and life coach to celebrities and CEOs, Forbes Riley launched her first branded fitness product, SpinGym®, in January 2010. (http://www.ForbesRiley.com) "The SpinGym® fitness program was developed to help anyone at any fitness level improve the tone and strength of their upper body muscles. I found it to be most helpful to women who are embarrassed to go sleeveless," Forbes said. "SpinGym® has enabled me to touch so many lives… people confined to wheelchairs, high-level executives, stay-at-home moms and people who just don't have enough time to get to the gym regularly. As a busy working mom of 7-year-old twins, this journey has been very rewarding for me. It is nice to be acknowledged by such successful companies as Ladies Who Launch and StartupNation." More than 709,000 votes were cast in support of the 2010 nationwide competition, reflecting immense interest and encouragement for moms building businesses at the same time they tend to their families. "There's been a sea change among moms as they've come to realize that adding entrepreneurship to their lives brings exhilaration and immense gratification, not to mention supplemental—sometimes primary—income to their families in these dicey economic times," said Rich Sloan, chief startupologist and co-founder of StartupNation. Forbes recognizes how empowering success in business can be for women and their families. Her mentor and co-star in the Jack Lalanne Juicer Infomercial clearly illustrated that there's more to life than just health and fitness - "to get your ideas out and to prosper financially from doing something you love is one of the keys to happiness and success in life." To this end, she is dedicated to providing solutions to foster innovative thinking and creativity: next year she will open her Inventor Dream Center, a unique production facility and incubator. Currently under construction in St Petersburg, Florida, the Inventor Dream Center will help to identify products that solve problems, enhance lifestyle, and guides inventors to take their ideas from scribbles on napkins to market in campaigns and retail distribution. The winning profile for SpinGym® can be found at http://www.startupnation.com/leading-moms-in-business/contestant/8183/index.php. Add Simple Cardio Blasters to Your Workout - Associated Content Posted: 08 Nov 2010 03:23 PM PST Tired of running on the treadmill and getting no where? Are you weary of the same old routine on the elliptical or stair climber? Add a few old school cardio boosters to your workout to shed pounds and build heart Simple Cardio Intensive Workout - Jumping jacks Surely you haven't forgotten about jumping jacks. This cardio intensive, plyometric exercise will boost your heart rate fast and also help build calves, thighs, and hamstrings while working hip flexors. Jumping jacks are not just appropriate for an elementary school gym class. They can easily be added to any workout routine in multiple sets of 10 or 20 to really get your heart going. Simple Cardio Intensive Workout - Jump rope If you think jumping rope is just for kids you are mistaken. Jump rope to 100 several times during your workout for a quick, interval heart rate boost. It will help strengthen your cardio endurance, and your calves will show a quick change in shape, as well. Simple Cardio Intensive Workout - Burpees This exercise is known by many names, but you will recognize the three simple moves that provide a cardio drill. Squat down with your knees slightly bent and your hands on the floor in front of you. Keep your hands in place and bounce your feet out straight behind you. Quickly bounce your feet in back towards your hands. As soon as your feet hit the ground jump up and reach for the sky. Try starting with 3 sets of 8 or ten reps to ramp up your cardio routine Simple Cardio Intensive Workout - Skaters Skaters may be the one cardio step that you didn't do in high school gym class, but if you have ever taken an aerobics class you have done some version of skaters. All you have to do is take a stance as though you are skating or roller blading. Move side to side, using your arms and feet just as you would if you were really on skates. Lunge from side to side, lifting your leg with your knee bent as you jump to the opposite side. Skaters not only elevate your heart rate, but also work almost every muscle in your body. Adding a few simple, intensive cardio moves to your routine will improve your heart health and help blast calories during your workout.
